Writer's Block: Talking Turkey

How will you use technology or the Internet to help you plan and prepare this year’s Thanksgiving feast?

This year I'm going to get alot of new recipes from the internet because recently I've turned vegetarian ( about 5 months ago). There are a few things I know that I will need help with making vegetarian that are traditional favorites. It will be a hardship this year making what I make delectable but I will try my best for the non vegetarians. I very much like the new non meat lifestyle I've adopted and I hope that I can stick with it for a while...

Writer's Block: Life is a masquerade

Are you planning to dress up for Halloween? How long do you typically plan your costume? Do you keep it a secret?
Really if you want to get technical, I wear a costume everyday of the year...If you want to use the words 'wiccan' and 'witch' interchangeably. So, technically I'm a wich all year long, so I wouldn't really need a costume, and i don't really like dressing as a black cat anymore because one lives in my house and it seems kind of mocking to me to dress up as her, especially if she doesn't dress up herself (assuming a cat would be able to dress herself in a costume(haha)). I am estatic about the advent of autumn. This time of year always represents a renewed sense of spirit and brings about reminecient feelings and thoughts of leaves, pumpkins, stereotypical witches, scary movies, harvest foods, the shorter darker days, the crisp cool mornings, and the trend of warmer clothing. This year is very busy for me but I shall persevere and make sure to keep up with my spiritual side. (More early morning yoga!). I notice the lonelyness that prevades this world and find it deafening. Similar to a poem I enjoy by and unknown author: Another heart is broken, another love has died, another lonely soul has been cast aside.
These days are lonely ones for myself and others, for the big holidays are approaching. How is it a person can be surrounded by people and still be completely alone? --- I know. It is due to no one caring anymore. In older times people would be selfsufficient and yet they would also help their neighbor and have close knit family to rely on; these days no one cares enough to help those who suffer from having no one close to their hearts and minds. I would like to say that I care, even if no one else does.

Writer's Block: Mirror, mirror

If you broke a mirror, would you worry about bad luck even if you're not superstitious? Would you walk under a ladder or cross a black cat's path on a dare? Is there anything you're superstitious about?
I do realize that this is my first entry and that I will be opening this particular journal with a perconcieved subject, But who cares? I will only muse on subjects in this journal and share my opinions. First though I will be just putting a bit of my personality out there for others to see so that they may get where I am coming from when I talk about the things that I do. I thought this topic was appropriate to accomplish that for various reasons.

Considering I am a quite spiritual person I tend to be very superstitious, although, not all people who are spiritual are superstitious. I believe in many things. I believe that supernatural beings like shapeshifters, vampires, and other 'monsters' are a good possibility. Other supernatural beings, I think, are even more possible, like fairies, goblins, leparacauns, and others. I am a eclectic pagan and have been for going on five years now. My beliefs are as follows on that subject: I believe that there are two main Deities ( One God and one Goddess) and that they just have many personalities or facets to them and I whorship some of their specific facets in particular. The main one being the Goddess Brigid, of whom I have been whorshipping now for over three years and thank her for all her help and love. :) I believe in magic. The ability to do so is also possible, though not as glamourous as on the television. I love the earth and believe that protecting her should be our number 1 priority. I also have been practicing vegetarianism for the past few months and it hasn't been treating me very bad either. Contrary to what my beliefs alone may lead you to think, I am no pansy. I do do yoga, and meditate, and not eat meat, and whorship the earth, but I am also a person to contend with. I can use a gun properly, I have common sense (as well as spidey senses (hehe)), and I shall be enrolling in a self defense class shortly. You do not want to mess with us vegetarians... We kick a**.
On to the actual superstition aspect of this entry...I can be very superstitious, as stated above. If i have a bad dream, get the wrong shiver up my spine, get some discouraging advice from a spirit, or have a negative horoscope I will deffinately be wigged out and be wary of bad happenings for the next day or so. I also have taken to wearing jewelry; I will not go out of the house without some of my jewelry on due to my thinking that something bad will happen if I don't wear it. I also think horse shoes, fourleaf clovers, and certain rocks are lucky. I do not believe, on the other hand that black cats are unlucky. I happen to live in a house with a black cat and think that she brings a sort of witchy luck to my home.
I think that is all for now. Untill next time...Tata
